Stones with a Human Heart

About the Project

The Stones with a Heart project was initiated by Chavi Ehrenfeld, a volunteer coordinator at the Friends of Navah Organization. The Friends of Navah Organization has been supporting bereaved families for over 20 years.

Yom HaZikaron – Israel's Memorial Day for Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Hostilities, is a national day of remembrance that unites Jews worldwide. Many bereaved families are unable to visit their loved ones' graves on this day. Through the "Stones with a Heart" project, we aim to provide them with a sense of closeness even from afar by placing a personal message on their loved one's grave.

You can participate by requesting the creation of a stone with a message of love and remembrance. Volunteers from across the country will prepare the stone for you and ensure its placement on your loved one's grave on Memorial Day. Documentation of the stone placement will be sent to families across the country and abroad.

More about the Project

Join Us

This year, Memorial Day for the Fallen Soldiers of the IDF and Victims of Hostilities will be observed on May 13, 2024. We are in need of numerous volunteers to collaborate with us in the weeks leading up to and during this day. Volunteers will coordinate activities nationwide, create stones based on the requests, and place them on the graves of IDF fallen soldiers and victims of terror in cemeteries throughout the country.

My Stone

Once again this year, some families will not be able to visit their loved ones' graves, whether due to distance, age, or other factors.

We encourage you to join us in continuing the Stones with a Human Heart project. This allows bereaved families and close relatives, regardless of their location, near or far, both in Israel and abroad, to take part in this meaningful day by placing a stone decorated with messages of love and support on their loved ones' graves.
